Comms policy

Who can direct-message whom across the org, and whether Ferris (AI) handles rep questions before routing to humans. The DM flags below aren’t consumed by the messaging surface yet; Ferris is gated on your subscription.

Direct messaging

Not yet enforced

Who can start a direct message with whom. These rules gate which DM buttons render in the messaging surface — they don't retroactively close existing DM threads.

Reps can DM project managers

When off, reps only talk to ops via the project's stage-scoped chat surface. When on, reps get a direct-message button on each PM's profile.

Reps can DM dealer admins

When on, reps can DM their dealer principal (or super dealer principal). Most orgs want this on — a rep's dealer admin is their first escalation.

Dealer admins can DM ops

When off, dealer admin comms to ops goes through project chat or the ticket system. When on, dealer admins can DM any team member with can_receive_dealer_dm enabled.

Ferris AI

Requires Ferris AI add-on

How the AI teammate handles incoming questions from sales reps.

Ferris is currently enabled, but your org no longer has the Ferris AI add-on. Turn this off to stop attempting AI triage, or contact sales to renew the add-on.

Ferris handles rep questions

This feature requires the Ferris AI add-on. Contact sales to enable it for your org.
