Project workflow

Scrub

First pass on every new deal. Confirm the contract is clean and the customer is set up to proceed.

Site survey

Either an in-house surveyor or the rep captures photos + details of the property so engineering can design.

Engineering

Plans drawn up — either by an in-house team or a third-party vendor. Includes any post-install revisions.

SOW

Two-phase review before work orders go out. Ops verifies the paperwork matches; rep signs off on the layout.

Permitting

Application submitted to the local AHJ. If they reject, loop through revision rounds until approved.

ICA

Interconnection application with the utility. Runs in parallel with permitting.

HOA

Where applicable, HOA approval is a long-lead item. Kicks off immediately at project start so it doesn't block install.

Pre-install review

Final check before scheduling the install crew. Catches issues that crept in while long-lead stages were open.

Installation

Crew installs the system. Ops reviews photos + work order afterward before accepting it.

Inspection

City + utility inspections after install. Failures trigger a rollback work order.

PTO

Permission-to-operate from the utility. Often the longest post-install wait.

Funding

Milestone payments from the finance company. M1/M2/M3 typically map to NTP, install, PTO.

Closeout

System is operational. Final customer outreach + monitoring handoff, then the project is complete.
